Norma Jean Cerda Alegria

Norma shared her life with her partner, Felix Medina, she had a deep passion for her children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family, always putting them at the heart of everything she did.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—dancing, spending time at the beach, and cheering on her favorite hometown teams, especially baseball and the Houston Texans. Her vibrant spirit and warm presence brought happiness to all who knew her.

Norma was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Genaro Cerda and Mary Helen Cerda, whom she missed dearly.

She is lovingly remembered by her living husband Jesus Alegria and her children, Crystal Thompson (Carter Moise), Amber Thompson (Eric Esquivel), and Christopher Alegria (Gaby Alegria); her grandchildren, Alex Avila (Julieta Avila), Makayla Rivera, Jaylene Rivera, Nate Rivera, Geronimo Morales (Ronnie), Naviana Esquivel, and Stiano Esquivel; and her great-grandchildren, Damian Rivera, Aviana Avila, and Adriel Avila. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings, Mede Cardenas (Sarah Christie), Melinda Davis, Anthony Cerda (Alicia Cerda),and Jessica Martinez (Cynthia Hernandez), along with many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

To many, she was known as Mom, Norma, Baby Jane, or Mrs. Norma—but to all, she was someone deeply loved and unforgettable.

Though she is no longer with us, her love and spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. This is not a goodbye, but a “see you later,” until we are reunited again. May she rest in eternal peace alongside her loving parents.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 NAVIGATION BLVD, HOUSTON, TX 77003, US, on March 18, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Rosary Service at the same location on March 18, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1920 Marion St, Houston, TX 77009, US, on March 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A Committal Service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, US, on March 19, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
