Norma Jean Hawkins was born October 2, 1934 to Ned and Nila Martin in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1953. She married the love of her life John Henry Hawkins on March 27, 1954. From this union came 4 devoted children.
Norma is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Henry Hawkins and her beloved daughter, Dianna McBee.
Norma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bill and Debbie Hanlon, son, John Mark Hawkins and son Kirk and wife Pamela Hawkins. Also survived by Norma are her grandchildren, Jered and wife Keri Hanlon, Matthew Hanlon, Tyson Hanlon, Amber Zylka and her husband, Jerrod Zylka, Britney McBee, Laney McBee, and fiancé Alex, Andrew Hawkins, Alyson Hildner and husband Ryan. Norma is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
A visitation for Norma will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 29, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A committal service will occur Friday, December 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Cemetery, 13401 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX 77039. The family will host a reception at Brookside Funeral Home immediately following committal services.
