

Odessa Reid Fleming, born October 7, 1912, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2012. Born and reared in Casa, Arkansas, Odessa studied and became a nurse. Although she gave up her career when she married and had 4 children, she never stopped trying to care for everyone. She was an expert cook and loved to prepare delicious meals for her family and friends. She was a good listener but was always prepared to give sound advice on matters of importance . She enjoyed reading and could converse on any subject. She made everyone around her feel comfortable. Odessa was a sincere Christian who lived by the Golden Rule or doing unto others as you would have others do unto you. She was a special lady who led by example and has left the world a better place. Odessa was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Fleming; son, Charles A. Fleming, and son, Richard A. Fleming. She is survived by her son, Ted C. Fleming; daughter, Nina Vanderford, and son-in-law, Delbert Vanderford, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8PM Friday, Dec. 7th at Brookside. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2PM on Saturday, Dec. 8th at Brookside Chapel of the Chimes. The Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
