Olivia was born on November 4, 1992 in Houston, Texas to Fa and Melissa Dwan. She lived in Houston throughout her childhood, attending Bellaire High School until 2010 and graduating from Chengdu International School in 2011. She ventured north to Boston for college and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Northeastern University in 2015. In college, she met lifelong friends and added several stamps to her passport. During her career, she held multiple event marketing, hospitality and customer management positions to fuel her curiosity of the world and her enthusiasm for connecting with new people. However, Olivia’s first and foremost love was travel. She visited over 25 countries before she turned 30. Filling her life with family, dance socials, and always looking out for new restaurants and coffee shops, she centered her life on living in the moment and diving into exciting adventures.
Olivia had the uncanny ability to strike up conversation with anyone who crossed her path. She never forgot a face and intentionally reconnected with friends and acquaintances when she moved or traveled to new cities. Olivia lovingly built communities in Houston, Chengdu, Boston, Austin, and Sydney. From school friends to church to her dance team, she was the daughter and sister and friend that you could count on to always pick up the phone, visit loved ones all over the world, help renovate her grandparent’s house, or cheer her parents on during a dance show. We were lucky to know her and even luckier to love her.
Olivia is survived by her brother in Houston, Benjamin Dwan, and her sister in Singapore, Christina Dwan.
Private services will be conducted in honor of Olivia's memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Olivia’s name to Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) or a charity of your choice.
