Opal was born December 15, 1924 in Burke, Texas to the late Maggie (Burris) and Richard Havard. She passed away with peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2018 and is now with her Lord and loved ones in her Heavenly home.
Opal was a devoted Christian and loving mother of nine children with a strong work ethic and family values. She worked in the restaurant business until retirement and she loved to cook, especially for family gatherings. All who knew her knew that her family was the source of her pride and joy and each of her children always felt her love and care.
Survivors include her children and their spouses Olan and Dulce Wonzer, Louise Wonzer, Linda Wonzer, Karen and Gary Abramski, Rick Stavinoha, Ronnie and Kathy Wonzer, Peggy Wonzer, Rhonda Gayle Wonzer, Sherry and Craig Rice and Robbie and Sam Moore. She cherished her grandchildren and their spouses including Cheryl and Eugene Zulkowski, Gina and Robert Harp, Darrell and Janie Wonzer, Ritt and Stacy Wonzer, Monica Wonzer, Tracy Wonzer, Taffidie Wonzer, Susan and John Weihe, Stephen and Carrie Stavinoha, Nicholas and Casey Stavinoha, Shauna and Jacob Siegel, Ronnie Wonzer II, Madison Rice, Colton Lee Rice, Kelsie and Michael Boenig, Cameron Moore and Samantha Moore. She was also a proud Great Grandmother of Alisa Hairston and Kyle Zulkowski, Jacob Harp, Brittany, Brandi and Karen Wonzer, Caden and Colton Wonzer, M.J. Griffiths, Juan Carlos and Linda Acevedo, John and Catherine Weihe, Zachary and Ella Stavinoha, Kate and Gracen Stavinoha and Tatum Boenig. And she was the Great Great Grandmother of Tyland, Adlyn Nicole, Veronica and Damon. And numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Brack “Jack” Wonzer; daughters Deborah Kay Stavinoha and Patricia Ann Young; son Bill Everett Wonzer; son-in-law, Henry Young; Great Grand daughter, Tiffanie; Great Great Grand Son, Mason; brothers, Floyd Havard and Preston Havard; and sisters, Minnie Lee Deaton, Ola McClendon, Helen Johnson, Irene Pruett and Gracie McClendon.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Harp, Ritt Wonzer, Stephen Stavinoha, Nicholas Stavinoha, Cole Rice, and Cameron Moore.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones for visitation on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Larry Maddox officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
