Otilia Celea Cuellar, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother has gone on to be with her Lord and Savior after a lifetime of service to the church. At the age of 23 she married Juan F. Cuellar in Guatemala, both very active in the church. He as a young pastor and she as a member of the choir and Sunday school teacher. Based on her husband’s charismatic ability to bring people to Christ, they were asked by the church to come to the US at the age of 27.
Otilia was always by her husband’s side doing her part as a teacher, advisor, and role model to young teens. In her last days it was so nice to see so many people now in their 30s come to pay their respects and to tell her how grateful they were for everything that she taught them. Otilia continued as an active member of the church up until her 80s.
Even though her husband passed away when he was 42, Otilia successfully raised 6 children on her own, working two jobs for the first few years. She leaves, 6 children, 11 grandkids, and 9 great grandkids. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be sorely missed.
A visitation for Otilia will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 31, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home.
