 I met Ronald Thomas on the Campus Of Bishop College like so many other classmates, in the early 80's , when I met Pastor Ronald Thomas , he always operated with such urgency, he said "it was because he started late in the game, and he had a lot to accomplish with little time to do it because his mission was clear. Pastor Ronald Thomas enjoyed laughter, we shared some awesome times breaking bread in the cafeteria together, we always knew we got together it was going to be a great time of laughter. 

The joy of being college classmates transitioned to Pastoring together in the same city Houston, Texas, what a time of refreshing to renew fellowship from The GOOD OLE Bishop Blue to now sharing in ministry together in Houston, Texas. He would always remind me  that I was in his hometown twice (1) Because I Pastored in 5th Ward or The Bloody 5th as he so passionately called it because I Pastored Olivet, (2) and he grew up in Lyons Unity where Pastor Oliver Carlton Johnson. No one ever talked so passionately about their Pastor as Pastor Ronald Thomas and Pastor Ralph West both loved Pastor Oliver Carlton Johnson and oh yeah Pastor I.V Hillard .

The passing of Pastor Ronald A. Thomas was very sad news to me on August 10, 2019 because he was a good and kind hearted man! I was out of town when then the hospital called me and his Daughter texted me to let me know that he had passed. I'm sure he is in a happy place now called heaven with God! I miss him so much. I still hear from his wife Helen Thomas and his Daughter every Tuesday!

Pastor Ronald A. Thomas, His Wife Helen Thomas and His Daughter Minister Yolanda C. Thomas/ SiSTA LOVE had become Family to us! Minister Yolanda C. Thomas would text me every Tuesday no matter what time it was.



Pastor Ronald A. Thomas was an amazing Pastor, Husband, Father and Mentor that could turn a bad day into a great day.

His Wife Helen Thomas and Daughter Minister Yolanda C. Thomas has always being there for me, to encourage me by text messages whenever I need her or just to text me at least weekly.

Pastor Ronald Thomas was one The Lord's most servants!

I will forever be grateful for the blessing of knowing Pastor Thomas. One of the kindest men and living proof of Gods love for us. I met Pastor Ronald Thomas many years ago while he and his family were arranging a final tribute for a loved one. During a difficult time, he still took the time to uplift and encourage me. Years later, I am still constantly be uplifted by the Thomas family, and It is greatly appreciated. I was saddened to hear of his passing, but glad to be able to say that his time here was well utilized and he leaves a legacy that will endure.

I was blessed to meet Mr Thomas and his Beautiful wife at a Houston Rockets game through their precious daughter,  Yolanda.   Mr Thomas had such a warm sweet sweet spirit.  His smile would light up any room.  The 1st time I met Mr Thomas he greeted me as if he had been knowing  me forever.   We must of talked for about 30 mins before I realized I needed to get back to work (smile).  So needless to say but, I was quickly adopted as their other daughter (especially since I shared the same name as their only daughter -Yolanda).  I will always treasure the words of wisdom and encouragement Mr Thomas shared with me.  He will truly be missed, the Rocket games will not be the same without him. This was especially true when it concerned God and the Gospel. He shared the gospel with anyone who was willing to listen. When he shared the gospel he would also give you a lot of information to make it more interesting to the person he was speaking to.

You could look in his face and see the joy he felt.


Pastor Thomas was my mentor, my angel on Earth and now in heaven. I thank God for blessing me with his presence for as long as He allowed. He taught me so MUCH and I loved to hear him speak to me. He ALWAYS had the perfect words to say to me. He and his family were here for me during a hard journey in my life and he shared so much wisdom with me. He inspired me to keep growing deeper in my faith and trusting God deeper. I feel God ALWAYS places him in my path a many a times that I needed to be reminded that God does indeed hear me. His light is shining. I can still hear him teach and direct me to what  God's say and how live, have faith, love, forgive, and learn to have God's peace. He taught me the true meaning of tithes and offerings. He taught me God's word to my understanding. He taught me to smile through my storm because God said all will be ok, just trust him. Although I didn't come to church often after growing up a little, I will never forget and very thankful for what Pastor Thomas taught me and how love and live the way God intended. Love You Pastor Thomas and will truly miss you.

I had a chance to get to know Pastor Ronald A. Thomas over the past 5 years or longer. He was a man of great dignity, wisdom and far reaching vibrant personality. Whether in health or sickness, I found him always thankful to God and always met me with a smile on his face!

Ronald I am still giving God thanks for our path crossing on this side. You and I experienced many things in life. We was always blessed to over come any and everything, but  most of all we came out victorious. I have never had a friend like you that I could share the things I shared with you. You made me a wonderful husband and Yolanda a wonderful father. You was a wonderful Pastor for everyone  under your leadership because you never left any stones unturned if you new anything was going on in any members or anyone's  life. No matter of the time (day or night) if you was needed we would gather your wheel chair or power chair, 30 gallon oxygen tanks, black medical bag and go with you do to your medical condition.  You would  say let's go meet needs, heal hurts and solve problems. (then you asked the person  what's going on?). You was a wonderful Teacher because you never wanted anyone in Church, North Harris College or Spring High School to leave without a clear understanding on what ever you taught. I love you, appreciated you, I miss you  and I can't thank enough for your seed  Yolanda  and marring me 44 years ago. Your wife Helen Thomas with Love

I want thank you Father, Ronald A. Thomas  and my Mother, Helen M. Thomas for having me and raising me with knowing right from wrong! Never settle for less because I'm God's best! Most of all being an excellent Father, Pastor and Teacher! Thank you'll for trusting me to serve in Ministry for 26 years with you'll! Ministry will always be my passion and being a blessing to everyone I come in contact with daily!

I truly miss you and I thank God that everything you thought you wanted to eat we were able to get it for you whether you ate it or not!

     Pastor Ronald Thomas was indeed an inspirations to all that knew him.  He was a  great preacher, a great husband to his wife (Helen), a great father to his daughter (Yolanda), and more important he was truly one of Gods spiritual leaders to all that cross his path in life.
     When call upon to speak..., church services, weddings, funerals, or special events, he made the family, friends, and church members feel so special to him and the world.  Pastor Ronald Thomas stay focus on his purpose in life in being a servant to the Lord.  He was a blessing, a gift, and shining star to all.
     My prayers are with the family, to be strong in your loss, because God knew he ready to transition to heaven.  Thanks  to God for allowing us to know  one of his best.

I remember Ronald always coming by to visit & check on my grandfather (his uncle) L.H. Dorsey. A visit my grandfather always enjoyed. It was only fitting that when my grandfather passed, Ronald was the one to officiate.  The service was so moving & true to the character of L.H., that I try to live by it today.

Thank God that I was able to experience such a phenomenal human being! Pastor Thomas blessed my life for many, many years with his teachings. God bless Mama Thomas and Yolanda! I love you two to life 

Although my acquaintance was short, this man of God displayed sincerity and meekness on every encounter.  To Mama Helen, my deepest love and admiration for how you loved and cared for your husband. To my sister from another mister, Yolanda, AKA Sis Love, I can see where your get your ray of sunshine. May God comfort and give you peace until we all shall meet around the throne of God

Pastor Ronald Thomas a great teacher. His teaching and his voice of teaching will forever be in my ears. He will be greatly missed. May GOD continue to keep HIS healing, loving and faithful hands upon Pastor Thomass family.





Pastor Thomas was a great pastor, husband, father, mentor, and friend. Rest In Peace my faith warrior! Without your faith teachings I would not be able to live the life I now live. God Bless, Adrienne
