

Pat is survived by her brother Frederick Nemec (wife Barbara deceased), her brother-in-law Earl Runte, sister-in-law Marylyn Nemec, sister-in-law Lisa Syma and by 12 nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her father and mother, her stepfather Harry Kennedy, her siblings; Elizabeth Runte, Anna Nemec, Michael Nemec, Richard Nemec, Benjamin Nemec, and Joseph Nemec, sister-in-law Pamela Nemec, niece Michelle Owsley, nephew Daniel Nemec and her best and dearest friend Rev. Rivers Patout III.
Pat graduated from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in 1963 with a B.A. in History and from the University of Notre Dame in 1964 with a M.A. in Social Studies and Education. She was one of the first women in the graduate school at Notre Dame in a special academic program to prepare high school teachers.
Pat taught at St. Mary’s Academy in South Bend, IN for two years. In 1966 she moved to Houston, TX and taught one year at Jesuit High School then three years at South Houston High School. Pat then spent the next twenty-seven years teaching at the Houston Independent School District, the last sixteen years of her career at the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Careers.
Pat enjoyed volunteering for almost fifty years at the Houston International Seafarers Center in Houston, TX. She loved meeting Seafarers Members from around the world and traveling to many international conferences that promoted issues concerning their welfare.
Pat spent her free time reading, assembling jigsaw puzzles and watching her beloved Notre Dame Football Team. She also loved to travel all over the world playing golf with her dear friend, Rivers.
A visitation with the family for Patricia will be held Friday, February 21, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm with Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A mass of christian burial will occur Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:30 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 9217 E Avenue L, Houston, Texas 77012 and the rite of committal following immediately after mass at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.
