Patrick William "Pat" Welsh, a man of wit, warmth, and unwavering kindness, left us on June 20, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on July 27, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, Patrick made his mark in Houston, Texas, where he spent his later years touching the lives of many with his generosity and humor.
A proud Irish-American, Patrick had a knack for storytelling that was as sharp as his wit. He was a master at both telling jokes and appreciating them, bringing laughter into every room he entered. Pat never met a stranger. He shared his love for strategy games, especially card games, with his friends and family, passing down this passion to his children, Sean and Katie. His cabinet is filled with mechanical puzzles, which he would hand to anyone who asked for them. He could solve them all. Patrick was also an avid reader and a huge fan of music, with Simon and Garfunkel forever holding that special place in his heart.
An alumnus of Archbishop Rummel High School, class of 1968, Patrick was a dedicated salesman in his early career. His later professional life was marked by his commitment to giving back, as evidenced by his receipt of the Keller Williams Legacy Award for his selfless service to clients, colleagues, and community.
Patrick's dedication to helping others extended beyond his professional life. He taught English as a second language, volunteered at the Brookwood Community, and worked with Kids Meals Inc. During the holidays, he delighted in playing Santa Claus at events, spreading joy and cheer to children and adults alike.
Patrick shared his life with his beloved wife, Eileen, whom he happily married in August of 1995, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, business, and a shared love of sports. Saints and Astros all the way!
As we gather to celebrate Patrick's life, we invite you to join us for his funeral services on July 2nd at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, located at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. Visitation will begin at 1 pm, followed by services at 2 pm.
Patrick William Welsh will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Pat's grandchildren, Colin, Evan, Susie, and Casey, as well as his daughters-in-law Naida and Dorothy, were present as he took the last step in the journey in life. He also left behind many nieces and nephews who will forever miss him. His legacy of laughter, love, and generosity will continue to inspire us all.
