Paul Joseph Lucco (Willie) was born on July 13, 1964, in Houston, TX. Passing April 3, 2024, from a prolonged battle with cancer. Paul was the baby of 4 siblings. Paul and his wife, Karen, met in 1986 when they were next door neighbors. He attended a 2-year technical school, studying electronics. He went on to have a very successful 30-year career in the oil and gas industry. He loved fixing things. Paul loved to have good times and Karen’s son (Steven) would find his beer cans in the yard and the next day would throw them all into the back of Paul’s truck just to agitate him.
In October of 1990 Paul came over and asked Karen if she would like to go to a University of Houston game and she said yes. He was really asking for his brother (Frank). He told Frank there is good news and bad news. The good news is that she agreed to go to the game, the bad news is she is going with me and not you. 34 years later, the rest is history. Paul was a very competitive person in everything he did from work, fishing, sports, and was always a winner. Paul was a very generous, kind, compassionate and caring person. He had the ability to make you laugh uncontrollably. Paul exposed Karen to my adventures like camping, offshore fishing, running marathons and so much more. Lou and Donna, Paul’s parents, put Paul in swimteam as a young child, like they did for his other brothers and sister and that might have been where his love of water came from.
Paul “loved life and his work”, he worked with American Innovations for the last 25 years. He treated his customers like they were his family, with total respect. Paul was all about making sure everyone was having a good time. Paul would troubleshoot Christmas lights to find the bulb that was burned out. Karen would just want to throw them away and buy news ones. “Not Paul”.
Paul will dearly be missed by his family and friends, as he exposed everyone he came in contact with to his kindness and generosity. He was a hell of a salesman and had mad fishing skills.
