

Pauline Lord Robbins Collier of Houston, Texas, passed away on January 6, 2024. She was born on December 7, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas to Donald Lord and Leone Langeness Lord. Polly was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and educator.
Polly attended West University Elementary and graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas. She received her undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.
During her career, Polly spent more than twenty years as an educator (and Math Department Chair) and technology coordinator for Pershing Middle School (where her mother, Leone, also taught), followed by more than ten years as office manager for her son Jack’s law firm of Cruver, Robbins & Fu. Additionally. Polly performed administrative and outreach efforts on behalf of husband John’s non-profit, Caring Friends. She was dedicated to her professional roles and made a lasting impact on her students and all who worked alongside her.
Polly was a life-long active member of West University United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas, where she was christened in 1944. Through the years, Polly was involved in countless pursuits including serving on the Pre-School Board, the Worship and Nominating Committees and participating in the Chapel Sunday Class, the Forum Class, and Koinonia Class. She especially cherished her time with her Christ Care women’s group.
In her free time, Polly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, and she was actively involved in their lives. She had an extreme passion for the Houston Astros and rarely missed watching a game. Polly was also an accomplished needle pointer and found joy and relaxation in this hobby alongside her wonderful friends in her needlepoint group. She was a voracious reader and ended each day cozied up with a good book.
Polly is survived by her husband, John Calvin Collier; daughter, Lara Robbins Rook, and husband, Lloyd; son, Jack William Robbins III, and wife, Mandy; son, Darryl Collier-Freed and wife, Anne; son, Charles Collier and wife, Erin; grandchildren, Jack IV and Luke Robbins, Mireille, Isaac, Bennett, and Jeremie Collier-Freed, and Elijah and Rowan Martin Collier; and niece, Kerry McCord McKay. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Monte Lord, and husband, Jack William Robbins, Jr.
A memorial service to celebrate Polly's life will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 3:00 pm at West University United Methodist Church, located at 3611 University Blvd., Houston, Texas 77005.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Caring Friends, Inc. in memory of Polly.
Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home in Houston, Texas, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Pauline Lord Robbins Collier touched the lives of so many, and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
