

Pauline was born on October 4, 1927, to Evelyn Truly (Woodruff) and William Jeremiah Ledbetter in Kansas City, Missouri. Pauline’s family lived in several states, including Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, and Texas. After she completed High School, she attended Western Union’s Training Program in Memphis, Tennessee and became a teletype operator. She worked for Western Union for seventeen years. Pauline met her husband, James Kenneth French in Memphis, Tennessee. They both worked in the same insurance company building. They were married in Hernando, Mississippi on June 11, 1949. Pauline loved her friends and enjoyed travelling, camping, card games, and dancing. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, aunt, and great aunt who would be missed by all that knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Beverly Diane McGraw and husband David of Sugar Land, Texas and son James Kenneth French, Jr. and wife Melinda of Moulton, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Ken French; brother Clifford Ledbetter; parents Bill and Evelyn Ledbetter.
The family wished to express sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff of Shady Oaks Rehabilitation and Nursing Home.
A Committal Service will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079, US, on March 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
