

Our sweet little mother, Pauline Elise Privat Tanner, having fought the good fight against dementia, finished the race, and kept the faith, peacefully passed away on June 20, 2015. Pauline was born May 29, 1924, in Rayne, Louisiana, the daughter of Louis and Marie Privat.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy M. Tanner, her son Morris Tanner, her parents, her brothers Roland and Fernand, her sisters Marie Louise and Philomene. She leaves behind her daughters Anne Johnson of Austin, Susan Leake and husband Stephen of Kaufman, Jane Lorenz and husband Richard of Houston, Patti Bock and husband Charles of Dubai, UAE, Kay Tanner and wife Molly Clark of Austin; grandchildren Jim Ridge and wife Colleen, Kim Ridge, Sarah Leake and wife Candace, Andrew Leake and wife Katie, Mary Claus and husband Dan, Anna Lorenz, Patrick Wilson and wife Jenny, Caroline Wilson, Tyler Bock, Alexandra Bock, and five great-grandchildren.
She was a patient, generous mother and a crack shot with a .22 rifle. Her heart and spirit were immense, and her faith in God was unshakeable. She was a devout Roman Catholic and member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Bellaire and St. John Vianney Catholic Church in west Houston for many years. The joys in her life included babies, her gardens, watching birds, and taking trips with her girls.
The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude for the extraordinary, professional, personal and loving care given to our mother the last several years by May Cole and the staff at Autumn Years Private Senior Care Home in Houston, especially Feyisola Olamigoke, James Agngarayngay, June Pacia, and Lorina Dawson; Hospice Nurses Janice Hoffman and Becky Evans with Excel Hospice; and Dr. Majid Jweid.
A visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, Friday, June 26; A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Houston, Saturday, June 27; Internment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to DePelchin Children’s Center, Office of Advancement, 4950 Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas.
