At 14 years old Pearl had a spiritual encounter and was baptized by the late Rev. C. Brown. While at Rising Sun, Pearl attended Tuesday night prayer meetings, ushered and sang in the junior choir. Pearl loved to sing.
On October 8, 1949, Pearl married Nelson Johnson and to this union two children were born, Cornell and Wendy Ann. They were the pride and joy of her life. Pearl became a devoted wife and homemaker.
