

Peggy Carson passed away February 13th in Irving, Texas at the age of 98. She was born May 14, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri to Joseph B Myers and Bessie Myers. She was raised in Ft. Scott, Kansas where she attended high school and Ft. Scott Junior College. She moved with her parents to Wichita, Kansas in 1942 where she served as a civilian secretary for the Army Air Force. After World War II ended she went to work with the IRS. Peggy met the love of her life, Albert Hestwood Carson on a blind date. They were married on Thanksgiving Day 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia where Al was attending a Coca-Cola Company training school. Both Al and Peggy were big sports fans and after the morning ceremony they attended the Georgia v Georgia Tech football game. Coca-Cola transferred Al, Peggy and their two sons to Houston, Texas in 1963. The Carsons loved all things Houston but particularly the Astros, Oilers and Rockets. Peggy had many gifts. She was an accomplished oil painter and she sang second soprano in the Tallowood Baptist Church choir for many years. She loved the Lord and is survived by her son Brad Carson (Karen), son Barry Carson (Lynn Robbins). Grandsons Tyler Carson (Heather) and Keegan Carson (Pam) and great-granchildren Bran, Athena, Claire and Kayleigh Carson. After a private family burial, a memorial service will be held at Tallowood Baptist Church at 12:00 noon on February 18, 2022.
