Philip Sayers Jr.

and courageous battle with cancer.

He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge, the son of Philip E. Sayers, former commissioner of Harris County, and the

grandson of Joseph P. Sayers, former governor of the State of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip E. and Elizabeth Sayers, brothers, J.W.Johnson, Ralph Johnson and Tommy

Sayers.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Helen Raye Sayers, daughter Phyllis Elaine Lynch and husband Donald,

son Philip Sayers III and wife Janet, son Kenneth Wayne Sayers, sister-in-law, Doris Johnson, nephew Wayne Johnson and

wife Elizabeth, five grand-children, and fourteen great grand-children.

Phil, as he was affectionately called, was a friend to everyone, a man of integrity, a loyal family man and a trusted friend.

Visitation will be at Brookside Funeral Home, 3410 FM 1960 West on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.,

with Phil's Celebration of Life following on Saturday September 14, at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Highway 59 North.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
