Phyllis Jane Isom Lutz passed from this life on October 22, 2018 after an extended illness. Born March 19, 1950, in Chattanooga, TN, into a military family, Phyllis spend her early years living in various locations around the country and world. Some of her fondest memories were from the years she spent in Mannheim, Germany. After her father retired from the Army at Ft. Benning, GA, she attended school and graduated in 1968 from Columbus High School, where she had met her future husband. They were married in 1971 and have been living life together for 47 years. She lived in Houston, TX for 41 years and considered herself a Texan and was a big fan of Texas A&M.
Phyllis worked for many years for Coca Cola, USA in Atlanta, First City Bank and Bank of America in Houston and George P Mitchell Corporation and Cynthia and George P Mitchell Foundation where she retired after 18 years. She made many friends over the years at these firms with whom she remained in contact.
Phyllis was proceeded by her father, James Nelson Isom, mother, Martha Lou Phillips Isom, and brother, James Nelson Isom II. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Lutz, her two treasured sons, Bryan C and wife Shawna and David P and wife Andrea, three beloved grandchildren Ethan, Nora and Ruby of Houston and sister Lynn Isom Benefield and husband Roy of Cataula, GA, and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 3pm to 6pm. The Committal Service will take place at Houston National Cemetery, Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10:15am.
