Rachel Ann Shaw, born April 15, 1923 in Madison County to Phelix Arthur Seale and Lee J. Emert Seale, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 31st, 2021 at her daughters’ home in Spring, TX surrounded by her loved ones. Rachel was a loving mother, grandma, great grandma, and great-great grandma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Phelix and Lee Seale, her husband John A. Shaw, her sister Mary Lee Ganz, her brother Herbert Seale, her daughter Jackie A. Stroupe, and son John R. Shaw. She is survived by her son Carl D. Shaw wife Barbara, daughter Billie M. Kloder, husband Arthur and daughter-in-law Mary Shaw. Grandchildren Kimberley Shaw, Darren Shaw, Joshua Shaw, Hayley Shaw, wife Sheila, Shelia Graham, husband Jason, Tonya Chalk, Marcus Green, wife Gaby, Amanda Shaw, Keith Green, wife Sarah, Abigail Nava, Cameron Shaw, Dana Shaw, Wendy Smith, husband Jarrod, Kathy Falkenbury, Therese Chadwick, and Penny Herman. She also leaves behind 30 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren, nephews, cousins, and friends. I think we can all agree she is leaving behind quite a legacy.
Rachel was a nurse at Methodist Hospital, in Houston, TX in the Neuro Intensive Care unit for 25 years until she became the personal nurse for Robert A. Shepherd and his wife for 10 years. She then was the personal care giver for General Ives and his wife for another 10 years. After retiring from nursing, she moved to China, TX where she lived until 2015.
Rachel loved quilting, sewing, gardening, lizard watching, bird watching and just enjoying nature. She loved to be surrounded by family and looked forward to her birthday and family reunions. She spent countless hours, cooking and making clothes and quilts for her family. She was a loving caring woman who was loved by everyone that met her. Being one of the strongest women this world has ever known, a woman who worked hours upon hours for everything she ever had. A woman who loved her family and most importantly God. In knowing all of this we all are at peace knowing that she is seated at the right hand of our Father watching over us.
