Reginald Dewayne Petties was born August 3, 1954, to Louis and Mary Petties in Houston, Texas. Reginald attended JC Sanderson Elementary. He went on to attend Francis Scott Key and graduated from Kashmere High School in 1972. Reginald went on to further his education at Texas Southern University.
At an early age, Reginald accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He remained a loyal member of Friendship, where he served on the usher board and was a faithful volunteer with the Food Pantry until his death.
In 1977, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Carolyn. To this union, two beautiful daughters were born. Reginald was the family “pit master” who could smoke a brisket like no other. Reginald loved music and a good game of dominos. He was an unwaveringly kind and just person. He was loyal to a fault. Reginald worked tirelessly as a truck driver with the City of Houston for 34 years.
On February 10, 2022, Reginald was called to rest. He was preceded in death by his sister, Regina Petties, grandmother, Willie Bell Thompson, and father, Louis V. Petties.
Reginald is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; two daughters, Regina Harmon (Clifton) and Rhonda Perkins (Frank); mother, Mary R Petties; one brother, Reagan Petties; six grandchildren, Matteo, Jaida, Bradley, Xavier, Kryssi and Maddox; and a host of cousins, nieces, and many dear friends.
