Reina Benavides Juarez’s story began on August 17, 1955, in González, Tamaulipas, Mexico, where she grew up surrounded by love and the values that shaped her into the remarkable woman we knew. She married Cornelio E. Juarez, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and deep love. She was a devoted stay-at-home mother who inspired everyone she met to be generous, brave, and resilient.
On December 3, she returned to her heavenly home with the Lord. She is survived by her five children—Sandra, Gerardo, Reyna, Beatriz, and Angelica—along with her beloved grandchildren, whom she cherished as if they were her own: Kevin, Jesus, Liliana, Monet, Julian (Golo), Rey, Allison, Fernando, Sofia, and Lucas, as well as her great-grandchild, Jesus (Baby Chuy). She also leaves behind her sons-in-law, Julian and Julio, as well as countless friends whose lives she touched. Her legacy will forever live on in the lessons she taught and the love she gave so freely.
Her life was a testament to love, faith, and purpose. As scripture reminds us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
“My mother's name in Spanish means ‘Queen,’ and she truly was the queen of our universe. Her strength and her selfless, unending love lifted everyone she cared for. Even through life’s most difficult trials, she taught us to be strong and courageous. Now, more than ever, her grace, faith, and love shine brighter within our hearts, leading us the way she always did. In God’s presence, Mi’Ama now rests, yet she continues to guide us with the true meaning of strength, love, and resilience, and we are forever grateful for that.
Mi’Ama was the heart of our family, our role model, and our forever hero. We love her more than words can ever express, and we thank our Lord Jesus for blessing us with such an extraordinary mother—one who loved us more than life itself. Mami, ‘May the Lord bless and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and give you peace’ (Numbers 6:24–26).”
