Richard Henry 89 of Porter, Texas passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 28, 2025 at his home. He was born December 30, 1935, in Houston, Texas. Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Emmett and Ruby Henry, brother Lee Roy Henry, Son-in-law Jimmy Turner, grand-daughter Jordan Lynn Henry and great grand-son Hudson Dwayne Turner.
A man of strength, honor, and kindness, Richard dedicated 17 years of his life in service to his country as a proud Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. His commitment to duty and honor was matched only by his devotion to his family. Richard was far more than a Marine—he was a guiding light, a steadfast protector, and a source of unwavering strength. To many, he was a mentor, offering support and that “Richard” wisdom. His boundless love uplifted those fortunate enough to know him, and his kindness left an indelible mark on every life he touched. Though his laughter, wisdom, and comforting presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
For 67 years, he was the loving husband of Linda Henry. Together, they built a family that would become his greatest pride and joy. He was the father of Mike Henry, Tammy Franklin, Ronny Henry, and Rhonda Turner, the adored Paw-paw to Christian Eagan, Jamie Rushing, Michael “Mikey” Henry, Amanda “Mandy” McKelvey, Shaun Henry, Samantha “Sam” McIntyre, Chad Turner, Elizabeth “Sissy” Henry, Derek Henry and Ashley Turner; the proud great-grandfather of 20 great-grandchildren, and the beloved great-great-grandfather to 2 great-great-grandchildren—each of whom carries a piece of his enduring legacy.
As we bid farewell, we find comfort in the memories he gifted us, knowing that his love remains ever-present. Semper Fi, Richard—a Marine, a family man, and a true hero.
