

Richard Allen Holmes went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 27th, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Inez (Toppie) Holmes and his parents, Henry Lee Holmes Jr. and Virgie Emma Hollan Holmes.
He is survived by his sister, Wanda Lee Hale-Tomlinson & husband Sandy Tomlinson of Tomball; nieces: Robin Moore & husband Bailey of Blanco, TX, Charla Cobel & husband Scott of Tomball; nephew, Charles (Chuck) Hale, Jr. &
wife Cari of Tomball; seven great-nieces & two great-great nieces as well as one great-great nephew.
He was born in Houston on May 22nd, 1930. Richard fought for his country in the Korean War as a soldier in the United States Army. Richard loved horses and learned from the best calf ropers in Texas. "All He Ever Wanted To Be Was A Cowboy." You would find him at a rodeo every weekend. His other passion was hunting and raising bird dogs. He was a faithful servant of the Lord, witnessing to anyone who would listen about Jesus' love and promise of everlasting life.
Visitation will be Sat., Oct. 1st 5-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm, Sun., Oct. 2nd. Both services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
