Wayne was born in Stamford, Texas as the second of two children born to George Rupert Raley and Lottie Pearl Hanson. After graduating from Stamford High School (The Fighting Bulldogs), Wayne enrolled at North Texas State University pursuing a degree in Business. Wayne was a member of Theta Chi fraternity and worked nights on the docks of various facilities to help pay his way.
Wayne moved to Houston in 1975 and began his career in sales. Wayne met Lynda Carlisle in 1980 and they were married on April 30, 1982 at the “World Famous Chapel of the Bells” in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Wayne worked in the sales industry his entire professional career and as a lover of people and stories, he was well suited to the task. As an award-winning salesman for the Yellow Pages, Masterguard, and as Sales Manager for a few different home security companies Wayne never met a stranger and would easily put three hundred thousand miles on his vehicles before finally retiring in 2013.
As a “retiree”, Wayne continued to work but this time he worked while pursuing his great love of Golf, another Hole in One, smoking the perfect brisket, and getting paid to drive. Most recently Wayne was a Marshall at the Jersey Meadows Golf Club while also traveling to and playing many courses around the country. He loved America, Texas, “real” country music, blackjack, Miller Lite, a good Gin & Tonic, playing with his wiener…dog, making people laugh, and spending time with his family.
Wayne is survived by his Wife Lynda and sons, Rex and his wife Ismenia, Baron and his wife Tana, Jayme and his Wife Fran, his Sister Sue, his Nephew Bill and his wife Leanne, Niece Misti as well as 6 grandchildren.
