Bob was a pleasure to be around him.  I knew him at Lazybrook Baptist Church when he and Carla were members there.

I was only honored to know and spend time with Bob for a few short years, but knew the day I met him he was a true American hero.

I found out later in our friendship he was a Christian Minister...one of his many life long accomplishments. As he was well aware of my personal situation, he offered to and subsequently proceeded over my marriage service to my wonderful wife Jamie.

"Blessed are thsoe who morn for they will be comforted" - Matthew 5:4.

Chief Baldwin was one of the "Good Guys". I served with him on KAMEHAMEHA in 1966. He was always ready to help a a "non-qual" if you would ask.

I was a shipmate of Bob Baldwin on the submarine USS Kamehameha in the mid-1960's.  We were both plank owners and made several patrols together.

DEAR LORD:
This departed shipmate with Dolphins on his chest is part of an outfit known as the best. Please Lord, make him welcome and take him by the hand. You'll find without a doubt he was one of the best in all the land.
