Robert Stanly Barkley

Robert Stanly Barkley also known as Bob and the great “Papa” went to be with his savior Jesus Christ on February 4, 2024 at the age of 82. He was born on December 1, 1941 in Three Rivers, Texas as the oldest of 5 children (Tommy,Harry, Virginia Gail and Linda Sue) from Richard and Florine Barkley. Bob proudly joined the Army very young and ended up utilizing his great mechanical knowledge/ skills back in the states for 47 years where he was admired and respected by his peers.

Bob was a quiet man of many words. Long nights at the movies or race track is where he found himself most nights. And if you were lucky enough to join him for the occasion, you were ensured three things. Good times, great conversations and a cold Mr. Pibb. No matter the place or company, Bob always seemed to remind himself and those around him of the many great people and life journeys he had been blessed with along the way. Best friend Gayle Williams and Bobs grandparents, Clint and Dema Roberds were some of the many great people to be mentioned in his legendary story telling.

As Papa is reunited with his beautiful bride Lena Barkley forever known as “Lita girl”. Together their love and memories will forever live on for generations to come through his many loving family and friends.

From his brothers and sisters,to his sons and daughter, to the grandkids and great grandchildren, we all love and miss you Papa.
