

Robert was born in Houston, Texas on May 18th, 1953, to Vernon G. Bratten, Jr. and Elizabeth S. Bratten. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1971 and went on to attend Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. He transferred to The University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1975.
After college, Robert went to work for his father in the home-building business and went on to become President of Bratten Construction in 1991. He loved every aspect of the business, from building single-family homes to commercial properties.
Robert married the love of his life, Marcy Williams, in January 1979 and was devoted to her for their 36 years of marriage. He was a loving father, husband, brother, son, uncle, neighbor and friend whose kindness touched the hearts of those he met. He was passionate about playing the guitar and cooking, and shared his love of music and food with his extended family. Robert was a member of Metropolitan Baptist church in Houston.
Robert is survived by his parents, Vernon and Bettye Bratten, his wife, Marcy, his daughter and her husband, Tracy and Tim Herbster, his son, Robert Jr., as well as his brother, Guil Bratten, sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Richard Owen, brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Martha Bratten, brother, Philip Bratten, sister-in-law, Karen Cook, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Bob Davidson, brother-in-law, Jimmy Williams, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
