Robert Ray Farmer

Robert Ray Farmer was born on the 1st of May 1944, in Bay City, Texas to Ralph and Liz Farmer. As a child, he and his family moved to West Columbia, Texas. He lived there until his graduation when he moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend TCU. He received a tennis scholarship to TCU and played there for 4 years. Upon his graduation he attended the University of Houston law school. After graduation from law school, he moved to Lake Jackson to begin working at the Brazoria County District Attorney's Office. After the District Attorney's office he joined a law practice where he remained until 1989. In 1989 he left the practice of law to run I.C.S., Inc. Contractors. He stayed at I.C.S., Inc. until 2007 when he retired and moved with his wife, Susan, to Houston.

Bob enjoyed watching the stock market and sporting events, observing birds and wildlife along Buffalo Bayou and playing with his Boston Terrier.

He was preceded in death by father, Ralph Farmer; mother, Lizabeth Farmer; and sister, Annette Burke. He is survived by wife of 52 years, Susan; son, Clinton Farmer; daughter, Claire Johnson and four grandchildren Alex Farmer, Kate Farmer, Thomas Johnson and Ella Johnson.

Special thanks go to Anthony and Debra Martin for years of extraordinary care and compassion. Also thanks goes to other caregivers who helped so much including Emma, Barbara and Denise. Thank you also goes to the exceptional medical care from Dr. Phillip Berman, Dr. Ariel Velasco, Dr. Manish Parikh and Dr. Alexander Drtil.

Friends are invited to gather and share remembrances of Robert with the family from eleven o’clock in the morning until one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 7th of February, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
