Robert “Bobby” Lee Gross, Sr., 72, of New Caney, Texas, passed away on March 29, 2025, of natural causes. Born on November 29, 1952, in Houston, Texas, Bobby was the son of John Henry Gross and Ruth Ivan Gibson. He was one of six siblings.
Bobby graduated from New Caney High School in 1971 and later attended Blinn College. He spent the majority of his career as a driver for Team Worldwide and retired in 2022, after which he fully embraced his passions. Sundays often found him on the golf course with his long-time group of friends, and he was never far from his favorite Mexican food, which he enjoyed at least twice a week—unless he could convince someone to join him for more.
Bobby’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his warm and engaging personality and never met a stranger. Above all, he was proud of his three sons—Robert, Michael, and Kevin—and considered them his greatest accomplishments.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Ruth Ivan Gross, as well as his sisters, Sharon Kay Kainer, Theresa Gross-Hunter, Barbara Sumberline, and his brother, John Lazerne Gross. He is survived by his sister, Mary Tyagi, his three sons, Robert (Vanessa), Michael (Jana), and Kevin (Candice), and his eight grandchildren: Aaron, Trey, Ethan, Bella, Alana, Sage, Gianna, and Masie.
Bobby will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
