

Robert Lee Stark Jr., a compassionate, intelligent, generous, and thoughtful man, passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 13, 1948, in Hillsborough, Illinois, Robert was the beloved son of the late Robert Lee Stark Sr. and Alice Ann Stark.
Robert's early life was marked by his pursuit of education at Parks College, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering. His career was diverse, with many jobs that showcased his skills and dedication. He worked as an aerospace engineer and a U.S. sky marshal. Ultimately Robert found his true calling and passion in flying. He worked for 24 years as a pilot for Continental Airlines. Robert founded Stark Aviation Services, where he enjoyed flying with his wife Erma as a crew.
Robert and Erma shared a loving marriage that spanned 38 years. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with family and adventure. Robert is survived by his wife, Erma Stark; his son, John Lee Stark and his wife Beverly Stark; his step-daughters Debbie Jo Torres and Michael Paul Martinez, Crystal Celeste Webster and her husband Josh Webster; and his daughter in law Adrianna Luz Torres. He was a proud grandfather to Gavin Lee Stark, Roman Anthony Torres Jr., Vayda Luz Torres, James Parker Webster, Addison Celeste Webster, and Abel Anthony Torres.
His personal interests included hunting, especially quail hunting, and flying, which were among his greatest joys. Cozumel, Mexico, was his favorite place to visit. He often referred to it as his "happy place", where he loved to scuba and snorkel, finding peace and joy in its crystal clear, turquoise waters. Robert was also a music enthusiast, with a particular fondness for George Strait.
Robert's faith played a significant role in his life, and he was a proud member of the Bellaire Church of Christ. His presence in the community was cherished, and his legacy of kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Stark Sr.; his mother Alice Ann Stark; his brother, Ronnie Lee Stark; and his step-son, Roman Anthony Torres Sr.
Funeral services will be held on July 24, 2025, at Bellaire Church of Christ, located at 8001 S Rice Ave, Bellaire, TX 77401, at 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079, at 2:00 pm.
