Robert Joseph Tiemann

Robert Joseph Tiemann, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2014 at his home in Houston, Texas. Born in Toledo, Ohio to Albert and Bertha Tiemann, Bob spent the last 59 years with his wife Mary Louise (Pauken) Tiemann.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Bottineau during the Korean Conflict. Bob's career with Gulf Oil/Chevron first brought him and his family to Houston in 1963 and he returned to Houston in 1974 after 3 years in Chicago. Bob and Mary Louise were founding members of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Houston and Bob was a long time member of the Serra Club of Southwest Houston.

His devotion to his faith and his family guided his thoughts and actions.Bob was Dad to Carol TenBrook and her husband Kevin, Joan Whetzel and husband Mark (deceased), Mary Jo Finch and her husband Michael, Stephen Tiemann and his wife Lilia, and Amy Klein and her husband Jim. He is also survived by two of his siblings, Rose Mary and Tony, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren with one on the way, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob's family and friends will gather on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary and vigil service at 7 p.m. at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church in Houston, Texas and once again on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. for the Mass of Christian Burial, also at St. Cyril of Alexandria.In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Casa Juan Diego in Houston, Texas.
