Dad,
You have been sent to heaven to be with the other angels, while letting you go was the hardest thing that I ever had to do in my whole life that I've lived so far. I held your right hand and kept you warm for as long as I could while the whole family and I saw you take your last breath. You seemed to have pass so peacefully even though it hurt us so bad to let you go, but you are not in pain or discomfort anymore and now you can fly free with the other angels. While the family you raised are here in this physical world my heart will mourn just knowing I can't do the things I used to do with you and mom such as showing up at your house at 9:00 am on my days off to go eat lunch after we did our errands and to get you both home in time to see your favorite TV shows. I realize that life is something that I have to carry on without you but you will never be missed and you will always be loved even though our lives have been changed forever. Memories of you will be a part of our lives now but what I have to say is that memories of you are so beautiful and you couldn't have done a better job by creating those memories, especially of all those holiday spirits and traditions, including Thanksgiving, trimming the Christmas tree, Christmas Eve Eve (Dec 23rd), Christmas morning at 7:00 am to open our presents with all of the families, Christmas in July, and New Year's Eve with the balloons held by a net from the ceiling. Dad I can't tell you how many tears I've cried since you have left us even when I've tried to hold back tears during a normal conversation with others because it hurts me and I wish you could talk to me and explain to me if this scary emptiness that I feel if it will ever go away.
Dad you taught me the value of life. You showed me to be independent, responsible, and most important to be strong just like you and your heart no matter what comes across my path. It has been 10 years since you have lived with a weak heart but not weak enough. You have proved to your family how strong your heart has always been. You took care of mom by getting her medications at Walgreen's to fill mom's pill boxes, took mom to her doctor's appointments and to take her out to eat afterwards to her favorite restaurant, not to mention paying all of the house bills, then playing with Peanut your pet dog that you loved so much. (I want to thank a family friend Marilyn for helping my dad fill and refill his prescriptions at times when he needed someone to answer all of his questions and concerns about any of my mom and dads medications while working at the pharmacy of Walgreens), Besides all of this dad you also took care of yourself. You have served in the Navy and fought for our Freedom, Dignity, and Respect to whom I also thank all the veterans and soldiers that have served and is currently serving in the military such as my nephew Joshua Flores that is following your footsteps dad. I am so proud of you dad and I salute you, and I am proud to tell everyone that Robert F. Vera is my dad and you did a wonderful job raising your family. I love you dad!

I stood in your room over you....
   looking down at you in tremendous fear.

It was hard for  me to see you that way....
   not knowing if you'd wake that day.

You opened your eyes and shed a tear....
   you'd have no fear, but still I was near.

Hand in hand, we would wait....
   not knowing if you'd pass, pass early or late.

Grandpa, my prayers were with you....
   for whatever you decided to do.

I said to you, "You would always have a life....
   whether it be up with the angels or here with us.

I told you that if you had to go....
   that I would still love you so.

....you passed that night....
    with loved ones in sight.

Grandpa, you will live on in all of us....
   for eternity.

I love you Grandpa....

I was so sad to hear the news of your daddy's passing. I will forever hold fond memories in my heart of him.  I can still here the music he loves and the bbq's in  your yard growing up.  Love you guys -  Yvette Garza - Westmoreland.

Grandpa... thank you for being an awesome grandfather and a great teacher. You taught me so many things and gave the best advice. Everything with you was always a joy, even the little things. You were always laughing and joking, I could close my eyes now and here that contagious laughter. I love you always grandpa! Thank you for being the best!

Thank you for all the memories as a kid, the get- togethers at your home. You and Virginia were always so peaceful and inviting. Thank you for allowing my mother and I to enjoy your family. You helped raise an AWEsome family.You will be missed, Bobby!

Bobby, you will be truly miss. We have lots and lots of memories that will be shared from time to time. Well you are with my dad now so i know there will be lots of singing up there. I will keep the family in prayer because they say that time easiest the pain but it really doesn't, I still feel the lost of my day but it does help with the emptiness that you feel from the love one you lost. Just live day by day... RIP Bobby... I love you all my family...Gone but not forgotten..
