You are like an older brother to me.  You, along with Sis Lilia, were a great comfort to me, especially when I was having some personal concerns.   You will be greatly missed.  

Tito Roger, 

You surely will be missed. We are just reminiscing all the happy times we are with you. You’re smile always lights up the entire room. Problems seem to small when you were around. We know that you are in God’s loving arms.

Roger, you are gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. 

You are so dearly special in our hearts that can never be forgotten especially your sweet smile.  Nandy and I wish you farewell in your journey to eternity until we meet again.

Roger, your kinder and gentler nature became my model and maybe to others. You're a very understanding, encouraging, observably supportive, a gentleman, workaholic, slow to judgement and slow to anger God's creation. Your spirit had Messages and Grace. You never faltered with your demeanor. You might not a strong leader in a secular world but were a great leader on how to search our souls by your example.
During our stay at Gause site, I jokingly asked, "Roger do you want to hear your eulogy now? You humbly answered, just make it short. " I'm sorry Ninong, I cannot make it short because there's a lot of great things to say about you. We will miss you. And while you're up there, tell God stories about us, so we can get closer to Him like what you did!

Ninong Roger (along with you Ninang Lilia), has the most beautiful soul and generous heart. We are thankful to have experienced both your love in our darkest days when Michael’s Dad became critical and supported the family when he passed away. And during happy times when I visited from the Philippines for the first time in 2001. We had such good times, including when you and Ninong Roger treated me for a special Mexican 'surprise' birthday dinner, shopping galore, spiritual bonding chats, etc . In that short visit, I have experienced what a compassionate, caring, holy man (and indeed both of you!) in how you welcomed me with such warm and open hearts and later when we visited with our children in 2007.  You brought them to the Aquarium which they enjoyed so much. Cara as a toddler at 1 then (now she's 15!) was ultra shy and would not speak to anyone but loved her Lolo Roger (she wouldn't let anyone carry her but the photo shows the bond between them - how she warmed allowing you to carry her!) We truly appreciated your sharing the holy tears when you dropped by to see my unwell Dad in Tagaytay during your 2019 trip to the Philippines.  
Although we haven’t seen each other in person since 2007,  and the plan of you both possibly visiting us in New Zealand did not happen before Ninong Roger went to heaven, we continue to united through God’s love even from a distance in heaven and earth.  
Rest in peace now Ninong Roger. We love you. Please watch over us from heaven and say hi to Mike’s Daddy Vening and my Mama Marita.

Tito Roger's smiling face will always be remembered.  I cannot believe that this photo is the last that we have with him.  Last February 21 (day before my birthday), we brought back Mama Mary to her home.  Willie and I brought them a cake since it Tita Lilia's birthday nine days ago.  We actually exchange presents as Tita Lilia gave us her special holy water angel mamon (sponge cake).  Willie and Tito Roger are always serious with their conversation whenever we visit them.  On our way home, Willie will tell me, "he learned so much about life and various aspects while talking to Tito Roger.  That's how Tito Roger is, he had never been selfish, he always shares good wisdom to others.  
Tito Roger, we all know there will never be a good time for departure from this earthly world especially hard to leave your loved ones.  
We are all grieving for your loss but we are also thankful because you have been blessing to so many.
Godspeed and look upon your beloved Tita Lilia, Rodel, Theresa and their respective families.
We will miss you, Rest in Peace.

I knew Kuya Roger by spending some time with him and Ate Lilia  at their home.  I could see in his smile and by the way he would look at  Ate Lilia, how much he genuinely loved and adored her.  They had a love that was made in heaven and so very blessed by God Almighty.  Kuya Roger was always so calm and peaceful with a soft & gentle voice.  The goodness and reflection of Christ in him and through him was always evident during his prayers, his generosity, and compassion for others, but most of all, by the way he cared for Ate Lilia and his family.  He was truly a man after God’s heart, true servant of Jesus Christ, and a man filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit.  He will be greatly missed.

I knew him as Uncle Roger. Prayer meetings at their house were always  a  culinary experience because Aunty Lilia always  prepared very delicious and flavorful food. Uncle Roger was her greatest support, helping her whenever he can.  He was always smiling and was always so kind and generous. Uncle Roger is a great example of a Chrisian and he will be missed by this community.  Rest in peace, Uncle Roger.

Rogelio (Roger) may be on his heavenly journey, but he has left a legacy of love, faith and respect for his family and all those who knew him.  We have never met anyone as special as this fine, caring and godly man.   We were truly blessed to have him and Lilia as neighbors for 42 years.  They have impacted our family in so many ways.  His earthly presence will be missed, but his godly spirit will be felt and remembered.  May God comfort his loving family and lead them through their sorrow  during this difficult time.

Sadness filled our hotel when we heard of Roger's passing.
Fond memories were shared with those who knew him well.
One thing always stood out in the conversations; Roger was always kind and always had a  great smile!
Roger was part of the Hyatt Regency Houston family for almost 37 years, a silent force in the Finance department and it was always a pleasure to visit Roger for a chat. 
For many years after his retirement we saw Roger and Lilia back at our Annual Celebrations; dressed to the nines, still smiling!

May the memory of his smile bring you comfort and live forever in your hearts. He does in ours...

Always a man of smiles. Loved walking his dog Oreo faithfully twice a day in the neighborhood. All of us neighbors knew when it was party time...because cars filled our dead end street, Roger and Lilia were entertaining!  He was a kind helpful man always willing to get into the dirt literally to sweat, dig, plant and mulch to make his wife Lilia happy with all her beautiful new plants. I never ever heard him raise his voice. It showed that he loved Lilia and his family deeply.  Heaven has gained a wonderful angel. We have a peace knowing that Roger will be in heaven and live forever with the risen Jesus Christ.

This is indeed the saddest moment in the history of the HNFAC and a tremendous and total loss to Lilia and the rest of the Bautista Family. We lost our good friend, my best buddy, the most humble and religious person, a Loving Husband who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary 2 years ago, our Religious Leader, ex-US Navy and a veteran, a retired hotel employee  
and one of the most valuable HNFAC Officer.
    I met Roger and Lilia in the year 1982 shortly after I retired from the US Navy and I was offered a job at Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice UTMB Medical Dept. as Medical Assistant working for and with the prisoners. At that time Roger and Lilia had the first and only Filipino Store in the area of 1960 NW of Houston. Shortly after that we became good friends and eventually we became an extended member of the family.
     Roger walked with Jesus with all his life. With the help of Frank, Mila and Tony, and Lilia and the rest of the prayer group, he organized TCGL and we bought our first property in Gause, Texas. Roger and Lilia faithfully visited the House of Tears every Wednesday, maintained  the group prayer every Friday of the week, committed to the whole night vigil every first Friday and first Saturday of the month, and a monthly visit to the nursing home.
     It is so easy to remember what we are doing now, what we have done yesterday, and what we have plan to do tomorrow, but it is so hard to forget our past accomplishments, our successful career, our excellent and valuable services rendered to HNFAC,
and being the original organizer and at present serving as 2nd Vice-President. That was the life and legacy of Roger Bautista.
     Now for Roger, there is no more pain, no more   suffering, no more hospital ICU, come 40 days Roger will have an audience with the Lord.
    Happy moments, praise God; Difficult moments, seek God; Quiet moments, worship God; Painful moments, trust God; Every moment, thank God. Roger we Love You. Rest in peace now.
