Roger Paul Cotten, 79, of Katy, Texas, passed away March 16, 2020. He was born in Ashland, Ohio on February 2, 1941 to Gladys Beryl Jones and Eugene Harold Harper. He was married to Julie Kay Cotten for 20 years. Roger P. Cotten had a career in Civil Engineering for CB&I. In the late 70’s started up a sand blasting company called Westfied Sandblasting with a buddy but sold his portion of ownership a few years in and went back to work for CB&I where he retired in 2000.
In December 1988, he became a member of Masons of Texas –Spring Lodge No. 1174. He was also part of a cowboy-shooting club in Spring, Texas in the late 90’s. Roger had a passion for guns, hunting, cowboy-shooting, the stock market, politics, history and spending time with family.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, wife, Julie Kay, brother, Ronald Cotten, and first daughter, Connie Elaine.
He is survived by his brother John Cotten and wife LaNae, his sister Bonita Abbott, his two daughters Lesley Elaine Kelly and her children Colin, Fintan, and Griffin Chaney. Julie Lynn Flajnik and husband Roy Matthew and their child Brooke. Two step-children Kristin Carpenter, Jeff Nickels, and family.
