Ronnie was born in Houston, Texas on May 25, 1955. After graduating from Reagan High School, he went to work for Southwestern Bell/AT&T as a teletype technician in 1973. During his 39 years with AT&T, he worked hard to learn new technologies in data communications, computer and wide area networking. Following this successful career, he retired in January 2013. Not ready to completely hang it up, he joined ADCom Solutions where he continued to serve his customers for four and a half years until his second retirement in July 2017.
Ronnie met the love his life and high school sweetheart, Margie, in 1973. They married in November 1976 and settled in Timbergrove Manor where they raised their three children Jennifer, Steven and Kathleen.
Ronnie enjoyed being the center of attention and was often the life of the party. Whether it was a small Sunday gathering with his family or happy hours with work colleagues, he enjoyed being with friends and family. Ronnie’s family was the most important part of his life and he worked very hard to provide a loving and fun environment. He loved Mexican food, grilling, home improvement projects, and his many Ford Mustangs he owned over the years.
Ronnie is predeceased in death by his parents, Evelyn and Richard Lineberger, Sr., and his brother Richard Lineberger Jr. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Margie, children Jennifer Youngblood (Scott), Steven Lineberger (Leslie) and Kathleen Lineberger, granddaughter Abby Youngblood, sister Sherry Hines (John), along with many other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center who were part of Ronnie’s care team, including Dr. Eric Jonasch and the palliative care team. Their kindness and compassion helped Ronnie and the family get through this challenging 8 year journey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (building fund) or MD Anderson Cancer Center in his memory.
