Rosa loved to sew and cook for her loved ones. She taught generations of her family how to fold masa into tamales at Christmas. She knitted colorful scarves and hats for us to wear in the winter.
You may not have met her, but in a way, she knew you. Mama never met a stranger who she didn’t adopt as a member of her family. She would pray for you, she would cook for you; she would offer all she had if you might need it, without knowing your name, without asking for anything in return. Her legacy will endure through every act of kindness we show a stranger.
Rosa is survived by her husband, Nicandro Sanchez, and her children: Gilberto, Epifano, Arnulfo, Amelia, Ramiro, Delfino, Cesar, Rosa, Evelin and Diana.
