

Rosalio Esqueda, age 94, passed away on March 21, 2023 in Houston, Texas. He was born in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He married Mercedes Guardiola also from Matehuala and were together sixty years, until her passing in 2008. They raised six children together.
Rosalio came from very humble beginnings. During his youth he lived in Mexico and then later moved to the United States. Rosalio worked in the mines in the state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico; Modern Metals,
Inc., and Weingarten’s Bakery. In his later years he worked for an International Trading Company in Houston, Texas retiring as a foreman. He was driven, hardworking and instilled a strong work ethic upon family. He was a property and land owner, loved to garden and maintain his yard. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church serving over 55 years in the parish. He enjoyed spending time with family at gatherings and shared many of his life stories. Twice a year he would host a big family event at his favorite restaurant Doneraki to celebrate his and Mercedes life.
Rosalio is preceded in death by his wife Mercedes, sons Rosalio Jr. and Hector Esqueda.
He is survived by daughters; Rose Hernandez of Humble, Texas and Cynthia Guaman of Katy,Texas. Sons; Johnny and Richard Esqueda of Houston, Texas. Surviving family: Daughters in Law Consuelo Esqueda and Carol Esqueda. Grandchildren: Geno Hernandez and wife Julie; Maureen Hernandez Fisbeck and husband Mitchell; Chris Hernandez; Veronica Esqueda Starovic and husband Walter; Hector Esqueda Jr. and wife Julia; Mercedes Esqueda Torres; Armando Esqueda and wife Alyssa; Matthew Esqueda and wife Yvonne; Brenda Esqueda Mangar and husband Evans; Lee Esqueda of Virginia; Marisa Esqueda; Michael Guaman.
Great Grandchildren: Dylan and Lucas Hernandez; Shelby Fisbeck, Jonathan McDonald; Michael Hernandez; Katherine and Brandon Starovic; Abigail and Victoria Esqueda; Jason Jr., Vivian and Joshua Torres; Armando Jr. (AJ), Ryan, Nathan, Ayden and Emmy Esqueda; Sebastian Esqueda; Joshua and Kataleya Mangar.
Special thanks to: Dr. Jonas Garcia, his Cardiologist and longtime friend, Dr. Amelia Ng., Cardiovascular Pulmonology Specialist, the amazing nurses at the Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Unit and a special thanks to nurses Josh and Juan. Also thanks to physical therapist Karrie and her Supervisor Russell.
Our beloved Dad will be sorely missed. We are comforted knowing he is no longer suffering and has joined our beloved mother and brothers in Heaven. His dog Blanchey, who he adored, will be cared for by his son Richard (Rick) Esqueda, who took extra care of Dad throughout his later years.
A visitation for Rosalio will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 NAVIGATION BLVD, HOUSTON, TX 77003. A rosary service will occur Friday, March 31, 2023 at 7:00 PM, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3006 Kashmere St, Houston, TX 77026. A committal service will occur Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at South Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.
