Rosie Emily Derrick, 92, of Houston, Texas passed away on Friday November 11, 2011. She was born on Sunday June 8, 1919 in Franklin, Texas to Frank and Annie Trojacek. Rosie ran a daycare for about 30 years. She also worked at the Nursery in the Fairbanks Methodist church. She loved working with all the little children. She was a member of the Fairbanks Baptist Church. Rosie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Bud Derrick, and her granddaughter, Amanda Derrick. She is survived by her sons, David Derrick and his wife Carroll, Richard Derrick and his wife Linda, Larry Derrick and his wife Clara Quinn; grandchildren, Scooter, Buddy, Clint, Bear, and Bryan Derrick, Emily Stravoski, and Carolyn Hall. She was also survived by her 15 great-grandchildren, and sister, Agnes Lawrence. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00PM on Monday November 15, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday November 15, 2011 in the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas 77079. Interment will follow in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
