Roy Carleton Phillips

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Pilar Phillips, son Aaron C. Phillips, two daughters Tina Danette Phillips and Rebekah Eliana McDonald and 8 grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his humor and his smile. He lived a good life. The son of Enrique Phillips and Concepcion Luna. Roy Loved living his life. He approached everyday with excitement and passion, especially when it came to his wife and children. Roy looked forward to watching his kids growing up and growing old with his beloved wife and best friend, Pilar. He worked for Dresser Industries, Hempstead I.S.D and Tomball I.S.D as a school bus driver part time some 15 years and Dresser some 32 years. Roy also went to Bible College for 2 years, became a pastor, and had a church called “Alpha and Omega” in Katy, Texas. Then he went on and became an evangelist and a chaplain for nursing homes.

He had a passion for people and loved to pray for them. Praying for people was a passion for him. He loved to talk to people about the Lord one on one. He enjoyed the outdoor activities like flying his kites that he would make out of thin branches from the trees and newspaper, flour and water as glue and kite string. He would tear sheets of cloth to make the tail for his kites and enjoyed flying them way high in the sky. He loved to swim and taught his kids to swim. He loved cars, almost every year he would go to The Houston Car show and meet up with his friends that displayed their cars in the Auto Show.

He made a difference in people’s lives while he was on earth, He had a big heart, big enough to be a loving husband, father, uncle, brother and friend. His smile was big and he shared that smile with “La Familia” and friends assuring them that each one was worthy in his mind. His sense of responsibility was huge as he cared for his family and others. Roy will be remembered with much love by all of us, who were honored to know him.

He was in the U.S Navy from 1960-1965. He would say “he didn’t know how big the sea was until he traveled to San Diego, Australia, Switzerland, Japan, Okinawa, Tokyo, Philippines Island, Manila and Hawaii”. He was a hard worker and loved everyone. He made people laugh. He would sing the part of The Wizard of Oz when the lion would say if I had COURAGE and he would tremble his voice and his grandchildren would laugh. After a days work he relax, loved to kick back and listen to some good music. His hobby was Life and living it to the fullest.
