Rubin Talavera Jr, 42 of Humble, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2024. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on December 26, 1981. Rubin graduated from Sam Rayburn High School, and enlisted in the United States Air Force on March 13, 2002 and became a firefighter. Rubin also worked in the refinery field as a Safety Specialist for several years, and he was also a volunteer firefighter at the Cy Fair Fire Station 12.
He was a member of the Wounded Warrior Project, Astros Foundation, Texans Foundation, and several other charity organizations. He had a passion to volunteer any time anywhere. He had a big heart, and you could always find him trying to help others out who were in tough situations. He was a big Astros fan, and was always on top of the newest caps to collect. His favorite hobbies were cooking, crafting, and designing graphics.
Rubin leaves behind his children, Eliza Talavera, Rubin Talavera lll, and Mason Talavera, with their mother Kinsey. His parents Arnold and Tammy Chavera, his siblings MaryAnn Berber (Joel), John Garza, Arthur Juarez (Kristina), Stephanie Ovalle (Joshua), Cindy (Chad), and Priscilla (Lance). His in laws Raymond and Dolly Louie. Several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038. A reception will occur Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
