Russell Fidel Sancho Honculada, 34, passed away on April 21, 2026. Born May 26, 1991, Russell was born and raised in Houston, Texas, in a Filipino-American household, the youngest of two children to Filipino immigrants. He shared a close bond with his older sister, Cece, just two years his senior, and carried forward a deep devotion to family that remained constant throughout his life.
Russell graduated from George Bush High School in 2009, where he spent all four years in the marching band, playing the saxophone. He went on to study construction management and business at the University of Houston and eventually took over the family business, H Construction, full time. He took genuine pride in his work, known for a steady work ethic, a generous spirit, and a selfless willingness to do what needed to be done. He spent years transforming his home into a sanctuary for those in need, providing the meals and employment they required to rebuild their lives. Recently, Russell partnered with his sister Cece to start PF Services, focusing on small freight and hotshot trucking, while serving as CEO of H Construction.
Russell nevertheless embraced life fully—seeking out experiences with the same energy and good humor that drew people to him. He was adventurous by nature and loyal to the core, fiercely protective of his family and friends, and caring in ways that were often quiet but always unmistakable. He could be counted on—devoted, hard-working, and kind—yet never without a sense of humor that lightened the room and made even ordinary moments feel easier.
Russell found joy in the work of his hands and the freedom of the outdoors. He loved working on his ranch in Needville, Texas, and had a deep appreciation for anything with wheels—cars, motorbikes, and the projects that kept him busy and fulfilled. He loved four-wheeling and rock crawling in his Jeep and side-by-side, hiking in Colorado, and RV-ing and camping. He also loved to eat, enjoying good food with the same wholehearted enthusiasm he brought to everything else.
His love for animals was equally strong and enduring. Russell cared deeply for his rescued cat, Star, found at the ranch, and for his dogs Nitro, Chloe, Mara, Chevy, and Ondoy. That compassion extended beyond his own home: he was working on starting a foundation to help stray animals, caring about their well-being not only in America but in the Philippines as well.
Russell also gave his time and leadership to the community. He was the first American-born and current President of the Bohol Association of Texas Inc (BATI). He was a member of the San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila organization, where he volunteered and cut grass at the civic center. In these roles, he served with humility and constancy, offering help in practical ways and showing up for others with the same generosity that shaped his life.
Russell is survived by his father Ike Fidel, his mother Cecilia, his sister Cece, with whom he was close, and his Aunt Agnes, with whom he was also close. Russell was also a devoted uncle to his nephews and nieces, who always looked forward to seeing him.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Honculada, Sancho, Cruz & Oculam families; the Bohol Association of Texas Inc. (BATI); the San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila organization; all of Russell’s friends, both current and childhood; and all of Russell’s godparents since he was a baby—thank you for being a part of his life.
“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. Forever in our hearts. Until we meet again.”
