Ruth Ninfa Cuevas

Ruth N. Cuevas, age 73, a loving mother of three to Gilberto Cruz, Juan L. Cruz, and Thelma Moreno and adoring wife to husband Alfredo Cuevas, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, in Cypress, Tx.

Ruth was born in 1951 to Gilberto and Ninfa Villarreal in Laredo, TX and grew up surrounded by her large and caring family, she had 9 other siblings. Ruth was adored and loved by many. She found great joy in spending time with family and was always eager to help loved ones. She had a deep devotion to her faith and enjoyed attending Iglesia Pentecostal Unida Hispana. Ruth also found relaxation in building puzzles and caring for her birds. Above all else, she delighted in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her beloved husband, Alfredo Cuevas, whom she married on March 20th, 1996, her sons, Gilberto Cruz and wife Nicole Cruz, Juan L. Cruz and wife Rachel Cruz, and daughter Thelma Moreno and husband Juan Moreno. She is a cherished grandmother to Amanda, Ashley, Gilberto Jr., Melissa, Daisy, Tony, Kathy, Kevin, Luis, Matthew, Mario, Alex and Mikayla and great grandmother to Clarissa, Kaydence, Payton, Samantha, Alexander, Isaiah, Abriella. Her sisters Blanca, Mireya, Mirtha, Bertha, Rocio, Christelle, and Cesar, and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her father Gilberto Villarreal, mother Ninfa Villarreal, and brothers Cacho and Gilberto.

A viewing will be held on February 9, 2025, at Brookside Funeral Home - Cypress Creek, located at 9149 Highway 6 North in Houston, Texas. The viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a religious ceremony scheduled from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Luncheon and refreshments will be available all day.

Ruth’s memory will live on through the love she shared with family and friends.
