A proud and independent woman, Ruth dedicated over 40 years of her life to working in a furniture factory in Houston. She later continued her career in retail at JoAnn Fabrics, where she worked until retiring in 2022. Ruth was known for her strong will, fierce independence, and deep Catholic faith, which guided her throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Rollins; brothers Woodrow Guidry, Allen Rutledge, Roy Rutledge, and Dale Rutledge; and sisters Ella “Sis” Thibodeaux and Eva Dartez.
Ruth is survived by her son Ronald Andrus; daughter Mona Andrus; sister Nell Talbot; brother Wilbert Rutledge; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and love for her family. Ruth’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
