

Sandra grew up in Livingston, TX. She graduated from Livingston High School in 1954 where she was a cheerleader. She became a registered nurse in 1957 after attending Texas Eastern School of Nursing. She was married to her one true love, Bill Billingsley, of Tyler, TX for 61 years. Together, they raised a family in Tyler, TX, Houston, TX, and Missouri City, TX. They called Richmond, TX home the last 25 years.
Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her sister, Betty Ruth Coffee. She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Jean Billingsley Metzenthin and husband Steve of Columbus, TX; and son, Wilton Oliver “Buddy” Billingsley and wife, Dena, of Richmond, TX. She is also survived by her grandsons Tanner Dean Billingsley, wife, Paige Hintz Billingsley and their daughter Charlotte; Tate Edward Billingsley and Fiancé Kelcie Philpot, Taylor Jordan “TJ” Billingsley, wife, Kinzie Stratman Billingsley and their son Bowen; sister, Giva Richardson Taylor and husband T.A. Taylor. Also included are her step grandchildren Haley Perry and fiancé Nick Cook; Blake Perry and several beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Sandra’s entire career was spent as a registered nurse caring for others. She was a true caregiver. She loved her work. Her greatest joys were her family, hunting with her grandsons, cooking for her family and friends, and her gardens. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, baking, pickling and preserving. She was known for her pecan and sweet potato pies. She loved her yard and working with plants. In addition to her career, she made time to be a room mother, and baseball team mother.
Upon retirement, she became the consummate volunteer. She served her community by volunteering in her church, St. John’s United Methodist Church in Richmond, TX, the Fort Bend History Association Docents, and the Fort Bend County Fair. Sandra was also a member of various ladies’ clubs and was always ready to pitch in and lend a helping hand.
She considered her family her greatest achievement.
The family would like to send special thanks to friends and Foster Dr. neighbors along with her caregivers.
Private graveside services will be held the morning of May 9, 2025. All family and friends are invited to a memorial service immediately followed by a lunch reception on May 9, 2025 at 11:30 am at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 400 Jackson Street, Richmond, TX 77469.
