Sandra Gayle Craig Caveness Fullerton of Houston, Texas, passed away July 29, 2020 at the age of 79 and survived by her loving husband Gary Caveness.
She was born in Houston, Texas on December 26, 1940 and attended Smiley High School until the 9th grade. She was married to James Cagney Craig from 1963 - 1981 and they had four children together. Sandra married Gary Caveness, whom she knew from her childhood and they’ve been married for the last 11 years. Sandra spent the majority of her retirement years in Trinity, Texas where she lived with Gary. Prior to that Sandra worked in Houston, Texas as Office Management for various HVAC and plumbing companies throughout her career.
Sandra loved attending festivals, parades, parties and events where she could dance, laugh, listen to music, and experience good food with friends and family. She was a spirited woman with a quick wit and dazzling sense of humor who appreciated bold colors, red lips/nails, high heels, and animal prints. She had a passion for helping others and loved the Lord. She had an extra special place in her heart for the elderly and children. Sandra especially adored her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was affectionately called Ms. Sassy Sandy, Mrs. Craig, Mama Craig, Aunt Sandy, Grandma, Sister, Wife and Mom.
She is survived by her children: Son Michael James Craig & Cheryl Craig, Son John Dee Craig & Michelle Hopper, Daughter Susan Elizabeth Craig, Daughter Amber Gayle Snyder & Brad Snyder and Honorary Son Terry Hargrave & Lisa Hargrave.
Her grandchildren: Shelby James Craig, Dakota Walker Rodgers & Taylor Rodgers, and Bailey Gayle Snyder.
Her Siblings: Sister Donna Rae Toellner & Don Toellner, Sister Judith Elaine Kolafa, & Brother Robert Allen Fullerton & Sue Fullerton.
Funeral arrangements will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.
Open Visitation is Friday August 7, 2020 from 4-7pm.
Funeral is Saturday August 8, 2020 at 12:00pm.
Graveside Committal service will be Saturday August 8, 2020 at 2:00pm at Brookside Cemetery 13401 Eastex Fwy (Hwy 59) Houston, Tx 77039. Masks must be worn with social distancing for both the Visitation and Funeral services. Graveside Committal service will implement social distancing. Please note - Space is limited at the funeral due to social distancing safety regulations.
To celebrate Sassy Sandy we’re asking anyone attending to wear bold colors and/or animal print. Sandy was full of life and humor and we want to honor that.
