

Sandy Crowder Eckles went to heaven peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, the 26th of August 2025. She was 73 years of age. She loved her family, her friends, and is now reunited with her son, Jerry.
Sandy was a proud member of the Lee/Lamar class of 1971 and a proud Texas Tech Red Raider. She embraced everyone she met with kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. She was a loyal friend, and her friends became her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeral Jo and Jean (Foster) Crowder; and her beloved son, Jerry Eckles.
Left to treasure her memory and carry on the traditions she so lovingly created are her husband of thirty-six years Tom Eckles; her sisters, Patty Henry, and Tracy Gilbert; and her nieces and nephew, Jennifer Ross and her husband Kevin, Trent Henry and his wife Jennifer, Molly Gilbert and Gaby Ertl, and Kirby Shaw and her husband Casey.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing team of doctors who cared for Sandy with such dedication and compassion.
Sandy would love for you to listen to live music, play a game of mahjong, or spend time with loved ones in her honor.
A memorial service is to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 8th of September at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road in Houston.
Immediately following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the nearby Fellowship Hall.
