Born on April 14, 1932 in New York City, she was the oldest child of the late Harold Pim and Mary Blair Goodbody.
She graduated from Kent Place School in Summit, NJ, and Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, as a member of the Class of 1954 and was in the Daisy Chain. She worked at IBM, Allied Chemical Company and Hoechst Celanese. She was a highly skilled needle worker. She also enjoyed music and the arts.
She is survived by brothers Harold Pim Goodbody, Jr. and his wife, Ann “Pandy”, of Williamstown, MA, and Chaumont, NY, and William K. Goodbody and his wife, Kathy, of North Truro, MA; daughters Mary Josephine Arrowsmith and her husband, Ronald D. Barton, of Wills Point, TX, and Luette Ruth Arrowsmith of San Antonio, TX, and her estranged husband (divorce in progress), Daniel Stratman, of Katy, TX; and granddaughters Barbara Blair Stratman and Luette Chloe Stratman of Katy, TX. She is also survived by her paternal aunt Luette Goodbody Semmes as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by former (divorced) husband and father to her 3 children, Donald P. Arrowsmith, brother James Blair Goodbody and her daughter Adele Workman and her husband, Greg.
A service will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Houston, Texas, in the future.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Vassar College the South Tower Class of 1954 Fund, Office of Development, Box 14, Poughkeepsie, NY 12604-0014 in her name would be appreciated.
A Memorial Service will be held in memory of Sarah at the new church of Emmanuel Episcopal Church located at 3785 Barker Cypress Road in Houston at 10:30 am on Saturday April 25th, 2020.
