We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Sarp Akmeshe, the beloved son of Cemile Sezer and Ertugrul Akmeshe, on February 16, 2026. Born on March 8, 2007, in Houston, Texas, Sarp was the sweetest boy, whose kind, angelic heart touched the lives of all those around him. He was a deeply loved and cherished grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Proud to be Turkish and a Texan, Sarp most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved his cars, soccer, sushi, and was an avid Formula 1 fan.
Sarp graduated from Westside High School in 2025 and was a freshman pursuing his engineering aspirations at The University of Texas at Austin. A competitive athlete, he was beyond proud to be a Longhorn lacrosse player. To those who knew him on and off the field, he was a strong teammate, loyal friend, and devoted son who will be missed dearly.
For the eighteen beautiful years we were blessed to have Sarp, he touched each of us in ways words cannot fully express, and he will remain forever woven into our hearts. His unforgettable smile, his gentle heart, and his radiance filled us all with warmth and light. We will carry him with us always. We love you endlessly, Sarp.
A Celebration of Sarp's Life is to be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 7th of March, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to join the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.
