Dear Cemile and Ertugrul,

Please accept our deepest and most heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beloved Sarp. We had the privilege of watching him grow sharing so many joyful moments together at the De Sousa house. Those memories are treasures we will carry forever. He was such a gentle, bright, and full of a light kid . It breaks our hearts to see him leave this world so soon.

We are truly sorry that we were not able to attend his Celebration of Life ceremony. Even though we could not be there in person, our thoughts, our prayers, and our love were with you and with Sarp every moment of that day.

May you find comfort in the warmth of the memories you shared with him, and strength in the love that surrounds your family during this unimaginable time. Please know that we hold you close in our hearts.

Sarp is a good, kind, loving boy. One of the most touching experiences I had with him was on his 16th birthday. I was going through a tough time, and Sarp took me aside and let me talk to him as long as I needed, and was so understanding and kind to me. That’s the way he lived his life - always considerate of others, and mature beyond his years. I’ll miss him so much and always remember the special connection between him and my family. Love you Sarp!

Some mothers are chosen to raise angels, and Sarp was one of them. He came into this world with the heart of an angel, and he left it the same way. Sarp was a true gift… Every time I saw him, I thought, “What a truly special child.” He had the power to make the world a better place, to remind people of kindness, love, and compassion. To have brought such a remarkable child into the world and to have nurtured him is a blessing beyond words. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for raising such a wonderful son. The ache in my heart will never fade...

My heart aches for Ertugrul and Cemile. I am so saddened for this enormous loss the family is enduring. May your grief be lessened with the passage of time. 💔

Biz hiç yüz yüze tanışamadık; ne seninle ne Sarp'la. Ama Nuran ablamızın seni kardeşi, Sarp'ı kendi evladı gibi sevdiğini biliyoruz. 

Haberi aldığımızda yüreğimiz parçalandı.

Oh, my dear child... my smart, intelligent, curious, good-natured, and beautiful-hearted young man. While I followed you growing up from thousands of kilometers away through news from your uncle and dad, spending even a short time together was enough to understand what a beautiful soul you possessed, to love you dearly, and to feel admiration and respect for the young man you have become.

You weren't just a role model for Zeynep and Alp, but also the big brother to Rohan that he looked up to with admiring eyes. As your father said, you touched our lives like a shooting star; you filled our hearts with warm memories—like witnessing you drink your first tequila and your sweet state afterward—and then you left.

I am certain that with that mischievous smile of yours, you are making the place you've gone even more beautiful. My deepest condolences and strength to all who love you, especially your mother, father, and uncle. You will be missed.

2010 yılı yazıydı, Dikiliye yazlığa gelmiştiniz, dayım, yengem,sen ve Sarp'la. Çok tatlı ,hareketli bir çocuktu, sen duşa girmiştim, Sarp bahçede ki salıncakta sallanırken ters dönüp düştü, biz hemen müdahale ettik, zaten hafifçe salınıyordu, korkudan ağlamaya başlayınca ,banyodan panikle havluyla koşarak aşağı geldin, senin endişen o kadar fazlaydı ki, hemen susmuştu, o kadar oğluna düşkün, iyi bir annesin ki, onu korudun, sevdin, en iyisini ,en güzelini verdin. Bir melek olarak geldi ve bir melek olarak aramızdan ayrıldı.🩵🙏

Even though we never had the chance to meet, Sarp was family. His father and uncle are like brothers to me, so he was my nephew. He will be deeply missed. I take comfort in knowing he is in a better place and at peace now. My deepest condolences to all his family and loved ones.

Sarp  hiç tanımadan dünyanın diğer ucundan seni çok sevdim. Ömrün boyunca derin duyguların, güzel yüreğin ve parlak zihninle insanlara sevginin özünü öğretmişsin. Hala daha öğretmeye devam ediyorsun. Annen Cemile Abla Tanrı’nın yarattığı çok özel bir ruha refakat etme onuruna erişti. Diğer alemde tanıştığımızdan ve tekrar tanışacağımızdan eminim.

Sevgili Sarp, 

Seni bebekliğinden itibaren tanıdığım için ve seninle zaman geçirebildiğim için çok mutluyum. Senin gibi sevgi dolu, kibar, nazik,  saygılı, düşünceli, uyumlu, yardım sever, kocaman yürekli bir kişi görmedim. Kuzenlerin Alp ve Zeynep’e çok güzel örnek oluyordun. Onlar da çok, çok üzgünler. Sen her zaman bizimle birlikte olacaksın. Bizimle yaşayacaksın. Senden bu kadar zamansız ayrıldığımız için çok ama çok üzgünüm, bu gerçek acı veriyor. Allah seni bizden daha çok sevmiş. Nurlarda uyu, mekanın Cennet olsun. Allah annene, babana ve seni sevenlere sabırlar versin. Her zaman dualarımda olacaksın.

Some souls are truly special, you recognize them the moment you see them. I recognized yours when I first saw you as a little child, Sarp. Your gaze, your smile, and your manner reflected the beauty of your spirit like a mirror.

I was young too, but from that very first moment I wished that when I grew up, I would have a son like you.

There are memories of you engraved in my mind, memories that now make me both smile and cry when I recall them.

I keep remembering how you would get upset with people who littered and complain about it, how you would pick up cigarette butts from the ground, and how you would ask me curious questions about what it means to be an adult.

Those were the days when you had just started practicing Turkish. When another child told you “none of your business,” you were surprised, thought about it for a moment, and gave the unforgettable answer:
“What do you mean none of my business? Everything is my business!”

Yes, Sarp, everything belongs to you: all the beauty in the world, all the kindness, all the flowers…

You deserve the very best of everything.

I believe your truly special soul is in a very beautiful place now.

I first met Sarp, 6,500 miles away, when he was about seven years old, during a video 
call he did with his uncle. Years later, as a high school student, this handsome guy 
joined our company for an internship, where I had the opportunity to meet him inperson. He impressed everyone he met here with his good manners, enthusiasm, and 
remarkable talent in some engineering subjects, even at such a young age. On behalf of 
his uncle’s coworkers, I express our heartfelt condolences to the Akmese family and 
hope that Sarp finds in the afterlife everything he was unable to reach on earth.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Sarp’s passing. Every time I had the opportunity to interact with him, what stood out most was the genuine love and devotion he showed toward his mother. It was clear that he cared for her deeply and treated her with a kindness and respect that spoke volumes about his character.

I was raised by my own mother, and watching the thoughtful way Sarp helped and supported his mother often reminded me of my own relationship with mine. That quiet sense of responsibility and love is something that stays with a person, and Sarp carried it with grace.

He was a wonderful person—calm, thoughtful, and steady in the way he approached others. Those qualities are rare, and they leave a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know him. There is no doubt in my mind that he would have continued to make a meaningful and positive impact on those around him and on our broader community. He will be deeply missed. 

Sarp’ın vefat ettiğini öğrenmek beni derinden üzdü. Onunla etkileşimde bulunduğum her an, en çok dikkatimi çeken şey annesine gösterdiği içten sevgi ve bağlılıktı. Ona ne kadar derinden değer verdiği ve ona gösterdiği nezaket ile saygı, karakteri hakkında çok şey söylüyordu.

Ben de annem tarafından büyütüldüm ve Sarp’ın annesine yardım etme ve onu destekleme konusundaki düşünceli tavrı bana sık sık kendi annemle olan ilişkimi hatırlatıyordu. Bu tür sessiz sorumluluk ve sevgi duygusu bir insanın hayatı boyunca taşıdığı bir değerdir ve Sarp bunu büyük bir zarafetle taşıyordu.

O gerçekten harika bir insandı—sakin, düşünceli ve insanlara yaklaşımında dengeli biriydi. Bu nitelikler nadir bulunur ve onu tanıma şansına sahip olan herkes üzerinde kalıcı bir iz bırakır. I had the chance to meet and work with Sarp during his short internship almost three years ago. He was a brilliant young man. Even in that short time, he managed to amaze me with his capabilities.

It was the early days of AI chatbots, and together we explored what could be achieved with this technology. We learned a lot and had fun along the way.

He was one of those rare people you meet and never forget. It is truly hard to believe that he is gone.

My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.

Sarp was a beloved young soul who warmed our hearts with his smile, gave us hope with his presence, and carried the purest form of life in his youth.

Some people live short lives, but they live deeply.

Sarp and our son Colin were great friends and teammates and future roommates.  I had the pleasure of meeting Sarp on one of my visits when we all went to dinner.  He was kind, respectful, smart, engaging, mature, everything we want in our sons.  Like evryone else, I was looking forward to watching him play and grow for the next 4 years and he was someone I knew my son would have been friends with for the next 50+ years.  Our condolences to the Akmeshe family, you are in our thoughts and prayers and Sarp is someone we will have in our hearts forever.

I have never met with Sarp , I saw a post about this beautiful,young man on Instagram. I saw all comments from his friends,neighbors,relatives. And I suddenly realized what a great ,brilliant man Akmeshe family raised. Everyone remember him as a cheerful,smart,full of life gentleman. I share your grief with all my heart , and you must be so proud of Sarp for light he brought into people’s life. I send all my love and condolences to Akmeshe family.
