He and his mother moved to Houston, Texas when he was 8 months old. He grew up in Cypress, Texas and attended Cy-fair High School.
During his childhood he excelled in all sports and played football, soccer, and basketball. He loved to explore the woods and creek near his home with kids who became lifelong friends.
Scott loved the beach and fishing and boating. He loved to travel and was always ready for an adventure. His brilliant curiosity, enthusiasm and energy motivated him to explore varied and numerous interests. His fine analytical mind allowed him to figure out how to do almost anything and he never hesitated to try new things. Scott worked as a project manager and estimator for mechanical systems companies.
Scott was loved by an incredibly diverse group of people. He never married. The love of his life was a soulful eyed poodle mix named Lola. He loved his family and was loved by them. He was funny and kind and a wonderful and fun-loving son, brother and uncle.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents David. G. Croy and Amelia E. Croy and Norma Shell Nelson. He leaves behind his parents Norman “Keith” Nelson and Debra Croy Nelson, and siblings Bobbi Evans Yost and spouse Nathan, Ventura, California; William C. Evans, Ventura, California; Michael Nelson, Odessa, Texas; Amie Nelson Williams and spouse Nick, Cypress, Texas and nieces and nephews Belinda, Brianne, Billy Jr., Triton and Khloe Evans, Jesse, Jemma and Lilyann Yost, and Allison Williams, Uncle Mark Nelson and spouse Linda, Kerville, Texas and cousins Mark Nelson, Jr and spouse Morgan and their children Logan, Lacey, and Andrew, Silsby, Texas; Justin Nelson and spouse Kellie and their son Cole, New Orleans, Louisiana; and Melissa Nelson Provost and spouse Aaron; Tomball, Texas.
