She graduated in 1940 from Nederland High School in Nederland, TX and married O. S. Johnson, Jr. September 13, 1941. They were happily married 67 years. After his death in 2009, Sherrill moved to Fort Worth and lived with her daughter.
She is survived by two daughters Beverly Johnson Baker of Fort Worth, TX and June Johnson Thomas and husband Bruce of Houston, TX; one granddaughter Erin Thomas of Houston, TX; one cousin Linda Cobb of Nederland, Texas.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in Taylor, TX.
