Shirley Allensworth was my mothers first cousin by marriage. The last time she remembers seeing them was when she was 14 yrs. old, she lost all contact with them. About 2014 they finaly got to talk on the phone after many yrs. Our condolences are with the family.

Shirley was a leader of great spirit and fun.  She was such a good Mother to so many Northbrook Raiders!    I am fortunate to have know and been touched by Shirley's powerful soul.  The Butler family prayers have been with you Marvin and the entire Allensworth family.

I called Shirley my "Aunt Shirley".  She was actually my second cousin but she felt like an "aunt" to me.  She was always upbeat and funny in my presence even when I know things weren't going that great for her.  She made me feel loved and a part of her family.  Kelley & I will miss her greatly.  She was a shining light in this world.

I was so sorry to read about Shirley.  She was such a great person, always in an uplifting mood and always made you feel special.  She was a wonderful friend to me and I will always have a place in my heart for her.  My thoughts and prayers are for Bill and her family.  I am sorry that I cannot be with you for the funeral. My condolences. I'm a friend of Bob's and I hope he and his family will be given strength and able to move forward, knowing Bob's Mom that they all love so much is already in a better place and at peace.

Shirley was a very delightful lady to be around. She was thoughtful and caring and she always had a twinkle in her eyes.   I'll always remember visiting her church and being introduced to her numerous close friends there.  So many fond memories to be thankful for.  I will miss her so much.

My heart goes out to Bill and Shirley's entire family.  I just saw them last week and treasure the hugs Shirley gave me.  We were antique dealer friends in the '90s and will forever hold dear the friendship she and Bill offered.  She is Home now and with her Lord.  God give the family peace.  We will remember Shirley's smiles all our lives.

I am sorry to hear of Shirley's passing.  We went to school together at Reagan High School and double dated sometimes.  My mom and Billy's mom were best friends. My sympathy and prayers are with the family.  Jo Ann (Skinner) Black.

I so loved Shirley. I was one of those boys who darkened their doorstep hundreds of times over the years. I could NEVER leave that house without her giving me something to eat. She was amazing and I will forever remember her fondly. My deepest sympathies go out to Mr Allensworth, Wayne, Marvin, Bobby along with the rest of the family.  Mrs. Allensworth was a sweet Lady. I'm glad she was part of my life growing up. That cast iron skillet always on the stovetop and the constant smell of fried pork chops in the air.

She had an infectious smile and a sparkle in her eyes - was always full of life and laughter and made you feel special.  She was devoted to caring for people and fun to be around. described someone as does this one. Whoever wrote it captured her
being to perfection.  She was a warm and wonderful woman, totally
down to earth, loving, forgiving, totally open and accepting. She swept
you up to herself the first time you met her and always made every
effort to befriend you.  I knew her when she was still looking after
"Northbrook football boys".  She fed and nurtured them like they were
her own.  Shirley and Bill were among the increasingly shrinking circle
of people we thought of as our REAL friends, and our world is 
sorely diminished by her loss.  Our warmest thoughts and prayers are
